Any wife or husband who has married a person who has a character disorder personality- narcissistic, sociopathic, or psychopathic- knows this to be true. I now tell every young woman NEVER give up their career to stay at home with children. I tell friends that if they catch their spouse in a web of deception, their unethical behavior extends far beyond infidelity. Unfortunately, many have a fairy-tale view of love that will never pertain to anyone with the Dark-Triad.

“You don’t accurately know who you married until you divorce them. The same man who benefited from you being a stay-at-home mother will now say you didn’t contribute anything to the family. Worse, society won’t value you either. In a divorce, they will say you are a woman taking advantage of a man.”
